Procedures for LTR Visa holders who wish to obtain a personal driving license
The Department of Land Transport has established regulations for aliens applying for a driving license to submit work permit or proof of residence in the Kingdom issued by government agencies or foreign government agencies.
Therefore, LTR Visa holders wishing to obtain a personal driving license must provide proof of the current residence which can be obtained from :

1. The Embassy or Consulate of their own nationality. For more information please contact the Embassy or Consulate of your nationality directly

or

2. The Immigration Bureau at Thailand Investment and Expat Services Center (TIESC), 6th Floor, PARADE Zone, One Bangkok Building,Bangkok by applying for Residence Certificate and submit following documents in person;

  • COMPLETED APPLICATION FORM RESIDENCE CERTIFICATE IN THAILAND
  • The receipt of TM.30 (notification to immigration that house-master, owner or the possessor notify you has stayed)
  • Passport and copy of your passport (Bio page, visa page and the latest Thailand entry stamp page)
  • Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) for those arriving in Thailand after May 1st, 2025
    or
    T.M.6 card for those who entered Thailand before July 1st, 2022 or those who entered through a land border checkpoint and were issued T.M.6 card (If any)
  • Note: The paper form T.M.6 card has now been replaced by the electronic Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
Please note that the processing time will takes 15 days after submitting request form.
